A full day excursion which will lead us in the Russian province, far from the vanity of Moscow, an unforgettable trip through time that allows to discover two magnificent cities of the Golden Ring. True cradle of Russia, origin of its history and first-rate monumental treasure, both cities were designated as UNESCO World Heritage site. We will begin with Suzdal, the ancient rival of Vladimir. Founded in 1024, it is considered to be the city of medieval Russian architectural masterpieces, a marvellous ensemble of 200 religious and secular monuments. We will visit its Kremlin, Monastery of Our Saviour and Museum of Wooden Architecture. Suzdal keeps the virgin character of medieval style and lets the visitor discover a typical atmosphere of a small natural Russian town which gives a contrast with the usual visits of big cities as Moscow and St. Petersburg. We will have a lunch at one of the typical Russian restaurants and then proceed to the neighbouring city of Vladimir: founded in 990 by Vladimir the Baptiser, father of Russian Orthodoxy, it was the capital of Russia up to the Mongol invasion in 1238. After the overview city tour, we will discover the Cathedral of Assumption with the frescoes of Andrei Roublev.
